Members of Bedfont Belles WI have been busy knitting, crocheting and creating ‘twiddle muffs’ for residents at Marling Court Care Home in Hampton. The knitted ‘twiddle muffs’ are ideal for residents with dementia as they are decorated with ribbons, large buttons or textured fabrics that they can fiddle with in their hands.
A brand new care facility named Lakeview Lodge will create up to 30 jobs for local people. This new care home is located on Jersey Drive, Newton Leys and will provide essential specialist dementia and residential care, with a philosophy of holding all residents and their families are at the heart of everything the homes does.
Dedicated Well-being and Activities Coordinator April Lewis has had many years of experience caring for residents living with dementia, recently she has had great success using sensory therapy for residents with dementia.
