George Ezra 'Make a Wish' Comes True with a VIP Experience at the London O2 Arena

Birkin Lodge Care & Nursing Home in Tunbridge Wells was thrilled to surprise resident Janine Wickenden, aged 97, with a VIP experience to watch George Ezra at the London O2 Arena. ITV News Meridian also came along to feature her on the local news. As part of the care home's ‘Make a Wish’ initiative, residents are given the opportunity to tell staff about somewhere they had always wanted to go or a special activity they had always wanted to do.

MAKING JANINE'S WISH COME TRUE

Elizabeth Penman-Green, Wellbeing Co-Ordinator at Birkin Lodge, who organised the surprise, commented.

“Janine recently moved into our beautiful home and immediately started singing the popular song ‘Shotgun’ by George Ezra. From this, I discovered that she was a massive fan. I knew I wanted to do something special for her, so I reached out to a few connections in the music industry and was thrilled to secure a VIP box at the London O2 arena.

Thank you to everyone at the O2 for being so supportive. Thank you to my friend Ben Anderson who kindly donated the tickets. Janine had a wonderful time. It was an unforgettable experience."

Elizabeth hopes to get in touch with the singer for a video message to surprise Janine on her 98th Birthday later this year
