Delicious forget-me-not cake for Ashwood coffee morning
Ashwood Nursing Home in Spalding was just one of the many Country Court Care homes to hold a fundraising coffee morning to mark Dementia Awareness Week.
Staff at Ashwood Nursing Home arranged for cakes to be donated by Tesco in Holbeach and the large cake with the Alzheimer’s Society forget-me-not logo was made by the girlfriend of a staff member. Residents, staff and family members came along and enjoyed cakes and refreshments, over £30 was raised for Alzheimer’s Society. Home Manager Khadija Kachra thanked Tesco for their donation and all the staff at Ashwood for their support.
Dementia is set to be the 21st century's biggest killer. But awareness and understanding remains low and many families are facing it alone. That’s why, during the Week, Alzheimer’s Society want everyone to come together and take action. By uniting, we can raise awareness, offer help and understanding, improve care and urgently find a cure.
