Belmont House Nursing Home shares some Christmas spirit
Belmont House Nursing Home in Stocksbridge recently opened its doors to the local community, as they held a Christmas Fare. On the 7th of December, the home welcomed many local people of Sheffield & Stocksbridge, as well as many family members of the residents at Belmont House.
Belmont House, a 40 bedroom residential care home, which specialises in dementia care, and houses 35 residents, has a fantastic reputation amongst the local community. Staff members at Belmont House always endeavour to organise meaningful activities, which will stimulate the residents, as well as give them a tangible and regular level of exposure to the local community.
Throughout the day, there was lots of festive food, singing, dancing and many local merchants had set up stalls in which to sell their local goods. The event was a fantastic success, with over 200 people visiting throughout the course of the day. The staff and residents of Belmont House also managed to raise over £200 for their residents comfort fund.
Discussing the Christmas Fare, home manager Kyra Travis stated: “I’m very happy with today. We have had lots of people come and pay us a visit, and enjoy the Christmas festivities with us. Getting people through the door to show the fantastic care we provide here can be tough, but today has certainly been a success. We look forward to our next event, when we will once again welcome the lovely people of Sheffield and Stocksbridge”.
