69 year Anniversary at Lostock Lodge Care Home!
On the 10th of July 2017, it was an extremely special day at Lostock Lodge Care Home, in Lostock Gralam. Residents Beryl & Edward Forsyth enjoyed their 69th wedding anniversary amongst family and friends.
Beryl & Edward met in Liverpool while both working for a Builders Merchant in 1946, a year after Edward left the army after serving his country in World Ward 2. Edward worked as Technical Representative and Beryl a Shorthand Typist. They married on 10/07/48 at the Methodist Church in Mossley Hill where they settled and raised their 2 children Ian and Pamela. In 1970, Edward’s work took them to the West Midlands as a Regional Manager for Master Builders Regional Direct, where they lived until he retired in 1998.
Edward was a member of the Royal Engineers Field Company and the day WW2 broke in 1939 he was deployed to North Africa and Italy to lift and re set landmines. He sustained many war wounds and finished his army career in Allied HQ Casterta, Italy. Edward has been involved with the Masonry for 70 years.
Spread over three floors, Lostock Lodge is registered to provide personalised residential and dementia care in a luxury environment. The home was officially opened in January 2016 and is already making a name for itself in the local community as a wonderful place to live.
Discussing Bill & June’s anniversary, Home Manager Cheryl Wildman stated “all of the team at Lostock Lodge we absolutely delighted to share their 69th anniversary with Beryl and Edward, and help make the day special for them.”
