The Grove enjoy fabulous Summer Fair
The summer fair at The Grove Care Home in Waltham was opened by residents George Peacock (99) and Gladys Cale (85) and the whole staff team welcomed members of the local community, friends and family for a lovely afternoon.
"We had a fantastic day" said Home Manager Amanda Griffiths "all of our staff team got behind the day but the Housekeeping team really led the way with all the organising. Many of them gave up their spare time, to decorate the home, collect prizes, organise stall and get everything ready".
Staff dressed up in 1960s themed fancy dress and entertainment was provided by local dance group Ebony. There were lots of stalls for everyone to enjoy from cakes and sweets to bouncy castle, raffle and tombola.
"We are still counting up the takings but it's definitely exceeded our expectations! It's great news for residents as the proceeds go into their Comfort Fund which goes towards day trips and extra special activities in the home".
