The Grove to host antiques valuation day
The Grove Care Home in Waltham will be hosting an Antiques Valuation Day on Friday 28th June from 11am – 3pm as part of National Care Home Open Day.
The residential care home on Ings Lane in Waltham will be joined by antiques expert Terry Dean of Unique Auctions who'll be giving an informative, entertaining and humorous talk at 11.30am. Terry has featured on BBC 1's Antiques Road Trip and has many years of experience in the trade.
Terry will be on hand from 12.30 to value antiques and visitors are welcome to bring along any items that they’d like to have valued. Larger items can be valued from a photo.
“We are very excited about our Antiques Day” said Kelly Lofts, Home Manager at The Grove “It will be a great opportunity for local people to come and see our wonderful home. Many of our residents have a keen interest in antiques so are looking forward to meeting Terry too”.
The event is part of National Care Home Open Day an annual event designed to encourage homes to open their doors to celebrate a different them each year, with the key values of friendship, making connections and celebrating older and vulnerable people. The theme for 2019 is ‘Arts in Care’ so the team at The Grove are hoping there might be some works of art rediscovered at their event. The staff team will be on hand to show visitors round the care home. Teas, coffees and cakes will be available.
