Managers and staff at Woodlands House Nursing Home in Colliers Wood are celebrating their rating of ‘Good’ following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The managers and staff are all fabulous."

We are delighted with the report findings”, said Alykhan Kachra, Managing Director of Country Court Care. “Home Manager Edmund Yeboah and his staff team have worked hard over the past few months to implement Country Court Care policies and systems, we’re looking forward to an exciting future at Woodlands House”.

At the last inspection the service was rated good overall, but requires improvement for the one area, 'Is the service responsive?' At this inspection, it was found that, as the new owners of Woodlands House Nursing Home, Country Court Care had made improvements to the way the service planned and organised social activities for people living in the care home. Residents now enjoy regular outings in the local area, physical activity including chair-based yoga and getting involved in their local community initiatives such as a recent litter picking venture. As a result, the rating for this key question improved from requires improvement to good.

The report noted how the care staff ensured people were treated with kindness, dignity and respect and that people were given emotional support when needed. One person told inspectors "Staff treat us very nicely and always with respect", while a second person remarked, "They [staff] look after us very well here…I would recommend them to anyone".

We are very pleased with the report, it’s a credit to our dedicated staff team” said Edmund Yeboah, Home Manager “We’ve got exciting developments taking place at Woodlands House over the next few months, which will start with a complete renovation of the ground floor of the Home, renovating the day areas, updating the décor and installing en suite wet-rooms in each of the 12 bedrooms. It’s fantastic to see Woodlands House going from strength to strength.”

Woodlands House Nursing Home is home to up to 64 residents and offers residential nursing and dementia care in a homely setting.
