Situated in the heart of Birmingham, Heartlands Care & Nursing Home is a purpose-built care and nursing home, fully equipped to provide our residents with care and support in a luxurious and comfortable environment. Our spacious lounges, pub, cinema, café and hair salon provide opportunities for people to lead a full and active social life.
All of our 65 bedrooms are bright, comfortable and homely with en-suite shower rooms to provide privacy and dignity. These are our residents own space and they are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their belongings. Our individual care plans are designed to foster independence and for those in greater need, to ensure the best quality of life possible in warm and welcoming environments.
The Blakesley Pub at Heartlands is one of our most popular facilities. Whether it’s a half-pint of bitter, orange juice or a glass of wine, an hour in the pub is a real social occasion. We want our residents to enjoy life, to be able to relax and share good times with friends, which is why we regularly host pub quizzes and games, too!
Serving hot and cold beverages, and delicious cakes with snacks available around the clock, our tearoom is a popular destination. Residents often host regular coffee mornings amongst their friendship groups or invite groups from the local community or other care homes in Yardley to join them, making the tearoom a great meeting point within our home.
For special occasions, families can take advantage of our private dining room. It will be your space for the day to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. Our chef and hospitality team will be at your disposal, providing a bespoke menu to make birthdays and anniversaries truly special and memorable occasions. Costs are minimal but will depend on the number of guests and your chosen menu.
Our shop offers residents an opportunity to purchase everyday essentials such as toiletries and snacks. Located within a village street themed seating area, our shop provides a dementia-friendly destination within our care home. Residents often come and sit, relax and enjoy a chat with friends – just as they’ve always done.
Movie night is a weekly highlight at Heartlands Nursing Home. We screen classics and current feature films, and we’re always fielding requests from our residents. Our cinema rooms are specially designed for the comfort of all residents to ensure those with sight and hearing difficulties can enjoy the cinema experience too.
We love to see children in our home and our family room provides a relaxed and private space for residents to entertain their family. Younger children can enjoy games and activities whilst older ones can take advantage of the Wi-fi and TV – we want everyone to feel at home at Heartlands
For many of our residents, spending time in the garden is their favourite pastime. Our accessible and dementia-friendly outdoor spaces are well used by residents for relaxing on a sunny day, enjoying garden games and getting involved in gardening tasks, with some having their own personal flowerbeds or veg patches to tend.
Our residents love their regular visit to the hairdresser, our luxurious salon makes this a real treat. For many of our residents, a set and blow dry are part of their weekly calendar – an important routine to boost well-being. Our in-house salon features a beauty bar for nail painting and hand pampering, and to top-off our beauty provision, residents can also enjoy time in our relaxing spa.
Margaret is committed and passionate about getting to know each resident and their family individually in order to deliver the highest standards of individualised care. She is passionate about promoting individual choice for residents, allowing them to feel empowered. Margaret operates an open-door policy and welcomes families and residents to pop in any time for a chat over a cup of tea.
Our dedicated Customer Relations Manager is Sevgi Halil, who is the first point of contact for families who are making an enquiry for care. Sevgi's role is to help you through the whole journey of coming into our home, answering any questions you have, organising your move in and supporting you to settle into life at Heartlands.
