Residents at Baycroft Flitwick Care Home, near Ampthill, were delighted to support this year’s Flitwick Church Flower Festival, which took place on Saturday, 4 October and Sunday, 5 October 2025 at St Peter's & St Paul's Church. The much-loved local event, which welcomed members of the public from across the community, celebrated the uplifting theme of “All Things Bright and Beautiful.”
In preparation for the festival, residents were involved in arts and crafts sessions, creating an impressive collection of 90 colourful birds to feature within St Peter's & St Paul's Church, Flitwick, festival displays. Residents used a combination of cardboard, wool, pom-poms, twigs, and other materials. The materials used created a vibrant mix of birds, including parrots, owls, and others, each one packed with character and colour.
Before the creative work began, resident Linda visited the church alongside Wellbeing Lead Bernie Hoo-Hing to see where the birds would be displayed, ensuring the designs would perfectly add to the space around the church’s pillars.

‘We are delighted to report that we had a record number of visitors over the weekend who enjoyed a wonderful display of flower arrangements to which your donation contributed. As a result, almost £2,500 was raised towards the upkeep of our beautiful Grade 1 listed church in Flitwick. Your continued support is much appreciated. Your birds were amazing and appreciated by everyone.’
