Baycroft Flitwick Care Home near Ampthill, part of Country Court, has taken part in the national Cake4Kindness initiative, donating a selection of traybake cakes to TT Community Support CIC in Bedford.
Care Homes across the Country Court group participated in Cake4Kindness Day on Thursday, the 20th of November. Cake4Kindness is a registered not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) with a vision to alleviate loneliness and social isolation for those experiencing homelessness through the distribution of cakes.
Bernie Hoo-Hing, Wellbeing Lead at Baycroft Flitwick Care Home:
“We were delighted to donate boxes of freshly baked traybakes, all decorated by our chef, residents and families. When we dropped the cakes off with Tina and Rose from the charity who go to Bedford Town Centre every Sunday and help feed the homeless, we had such a warm reception. They all said they were looking forward to trying the tasty treats we delivered.’
Interim Home Manager Holly Wilson commented:
‘Taking part in Cake4Kindness has been a simple yet meaningful way for us to support our local community.”
The initiative offered residents and staff at Baycroft Flitwick the opportunity to connect with and support a local organisation that provides essential assistance to families and individuals in need.
