Castle Lodge Care Home in Mere was thrilled to welcome Dame Sarah Troughton DCVO, Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire and second cousin of King Charles III, for a visit this month.
Dame Sarah met with residents, staff and spent time discussing care with Care Home Manager Wendy Perkins and Customer Relations Manager Chris Guest. Dame Sarah took the time to see first-hand the day-to-day life of the home. Castle Lodge continues to provide residential, dementia and respite care to people in Mere and the surrounding areas.
Dame Sarah shared the following after her visit:
“I very much enjoyed my visit to Castle Lodge and thank you for inviting me. What a fabulous care home you have, and the residents are lucky to have you as their Manager.
Everything was so sumptuous and comfortable, and the home had a particularly happy atmosphere which of course will get even better when more residents arrive over the next few months.
As you say, lunch is an important meal and a lovely chance for the residents to chat to their companions and thereby stop loneliness.
Thank you for ours!
With very best wishes and renewed thanks to you and Chris for welcoming me so warmly.”
Castle Lodge offers residential and dementia care, with bright en-suite rooms, dining areas, a Coffee Club Café, and landscaped gardens designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment.
Chris Guest, Customer Relations Manager at Castle Lodge, said:
“It was a privilege to host Dame Sarah. Her visit reflects the care and atmosphere we aim to provide at Castle Lodge. Our team is committed to making every resident feel at home and part of the community.”
