Celebrity Host Louie Spence brings sparkle to Moat House Care Home Valentine’s Day Bingo

Moat House Care Home in Great Easton, Essex, was delighted to welcome TV celebrity Louie Spence to host  a lively Valentine’s Day Bingo afternoon on Friday 20th February. Friends, neighbours, and families joined Louie to help raise £125 for Dementia UK, a charity very close to the home’s heart.

The event was made extra special by host Louie, who kept everyone entertained throughout the afternoon. Louie is becoming a familiar face for residents at Moat House Care Home, as he is filming his popular ‘Louie Spence in Care’ series for YouTube at the Great Easton Care Home.  As well as being a fabulous bingo caller, Louie was happy to chat with residents and pose for photos with friends and family members.

Attendees were full of praise for the event, sharing numerous lovely comments after the evening. One guest said, “What a great evening. Louie was so much fun, so wonderful, bringing even more joy to such a caring care home.” Another commented, “Thanks for a great night, it was really fun. The residents are all lovely, and we were all so impressed with the home.” Others described it as a “fabulous bingo evening with the bundle of energy Louie Spence at Moat House, which is like a five-star hotel, with my bestie and her mum.

Guests enjoyed Valentine’s-themed bingo, with prizes including an afternoon tea hamper, a selection of Pukka teas, sweets, biscuits, a charcuterie hamper, and a tea and biscuit hamper. There was also a tempting selection of homemade cakes, beautifully presented on delightful afternoon tea stands. Refreshments were provided throughout, all in the warm and friendly atmosphere of Moat House.

There were plenty of happy winners on the night. Two of the home’s residents, Pat and Beryl, each won a line prize, while another line was won by local community member June. Russell, nephew of resident Rita, won one of the larger prizes, the charcuterie board. Sally, granddaughter of a resident, won the Edmond and Charles box, and other guests, Luke and Jess, were delighted to take home the two-line chocolate selection prize.

The home was also proud to receive feedback from Amanda, representative of Dementia UK, commenting: “Thank you, everyone, for your fantastic support. It means a lot to us.”

Customer Relations Manager Debbie Barber said, “It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves and coming together for such a good cause. Louie brought so much energy and fun, and we’re thrilled that the event raised £125 for Dementia UK while giving everyone a fantastic afternoon.

We were delighted with the turnout and the positive atmosphere, and we look forward to hosting more community events in the future, combining fun and entertainment with support for charities that make a real difference.’ Commented Home Manager Tara Crowe.
