Ruby Lodge Care Home in Thirsk is inviting the local community to come along to a Community Wellbeing Day on Saturday 21st March from 2pm to 4pm. The event is open to the whole community and will bring together a range of local support groups, healthcare professionals and community organisations, all with a shared focus on promoting health and wellbeing in the Thirsk area.
Throughout the afternoon, guests will have the opportunity to browse a range of information stalls, chat informally with professionals and find out more about the services and initiatives available locally. There will be light activities and short talks led by healthcare professionals, along with plenty of helpful wellbeing information and resources to take away. Light refreshments will be served, and visitors will also be invited to enjoy guided tours of Ruby Lodge.
Organisations attending on the day include North Yorkshire and Darlington Age UK, Dementia Forward, Home Instead Harrogate, Andy’s Man Club, The Hearing Place Thirsk, Easingwold and District Community Association, North Yorkshire Police Volunteers, The Continence Team and Holy Rood House – Respite and Wellbeing Thirsk.
‘Visitors can also enjoy a relaxing arm or hand massage demonstration from Tropic Skin Care, and at 3pm there will be a chair-based yoga demonstration led by Alex. Ruby Lodge’s own Wellbeing Team will be hosting a stall to share information about the activities and support available within our care home.’ Commented Home Manager Holly Hunton.
