Laughter, games, and friendship filled Ferrars Hall Care Home in Huntingdon at the weekend as residents, families, and visitors came together for their Summer Garden Party, raising a total of £249 for the comfort fund for the residents. Not even a brief bout of drizzle could spoil the party mood, with everyone having an afternoon of fun.
Celebrations this year substituted stalls with traditional ones by action-packed thrills, with visitors and locals giving Hook A Duck, Wheel of Fortune, and the human version of the popular Fruit Machine a try, along with a raffle that assisted in raising funds for the residents' comfort fund to provide for future activities and outings.
To make the experience even more thrilling, there was a live performance and singalong and everyone joined in, from residents, family, and friends clapping, dancing, and laughing together, making it a special afternoon for all.
Family and friends were joined by special guests, Mayor Audrey McAdam and her husband, Councillor Steve McAdam, and former Mayor Councillor Philip Pearce and his wife, Debbie, who all attended as a display of support.
Ferrars Hall Wellbeing Coordinator Katie said:
"It was a lovely afternoon with our residents and their friends and families. The mood was joyous, filled with laughter and community spirit – even the rain wasn't able to dampen our celebrations!"
Home Manager Susan added their thanks to everyone who had supported the event, thanking staff, residents, residents' families, and local community for helping the garden party be such a success.
