Residents and families at Walberton Place enjoyed a ‘Dog Café’ recently, with local people joining them for afternoon tea with their four-legged friends.
The team from Clymping Dog Sanctuary and Joanna Jones Photography were among the visitors who enjoyed meeting the care home residents and introducing them to their dogs. The canine visitors came in all shapes and sizes and made for a fun and relaxed afternoon, sharing stories and reminiscing about family pets.
“We had a wonderful afternoon”, said Home Manager Edmalyn Consigna. “Here at Walberton Place care home, we are always looking for ways to give our residents the opportunity to engage with the local community and meet new people”.
Margaret Hodkinson, Wellbeing Coordinator, added, “We like to get to know about people’s lives before they come to live at Walberton Place. Many of our residents share fond memories of their family pets. We know many of them are dog lovers, so our ‘Dog Café’ seemed like a fun way to get some visiting dogs into the home for the day. Everyone loved it, you can see how much it means to people by the smiles on their faces!”
Local photographer Joanna Jones showcased her stunning pet and animal portraits, with residents keen to know more about her photographic artwork. Joanna is an outdoor photographer based in Chichester with a talent for capturing the unique personalities of her clients’ dogs.
The team from Clymping Dog Sanctuary are passionate about providing a safe refuge for vulnerable dogs. Their volunteers shared their experiences with residents and families who were eager to learn more about the work of the charity based near Arundel.
Joanna Jones is offering a complimentary photo session (until 29th May 2025 ) if people mention “Walberton Care Home” when they book their pet portrait. Click here to redeem the offer.
