Residents and the staff team at The Grove Care Home near Grimsby supported several charities throughout the month of October, such as Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Awareness. Both of which are very close to the hearts of those living and working at the home.
‘For our Macmillan Coffee Morning, we raised a wonderful £110.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This charity is one that means a great deal to our staff team, who continue to receive valuable support from local Macmillan professionals. It was a relaxed afternoon enjoyed by residents, families, and staff, with plenty of coffee, conversation, and home-baked cakes.’ Commented Ros Wells, Customer Relations Manager.
The home also held a Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser on Wear It Pink Day, collecting an additional £107.00 for the charity.
‘The Wear It Pink day was well supported by everyone at The Grove, who truly “painted the home pink” to show their support. Our residents loved to see the home transformed for this special cause.’ Commented Home Manager Kelly Lofts.
‘Our staff team and residents are now preparing for our next community event, which is our Christmas Fair, which will be on Saturday, 6th December from 2pm – 4pm. Everyone is welcome to attend to join in on the festivities.’ Commented Ros Wells, Customer Relations Manager.
