Resident Diana’s Wish Comes True with a Family Photoshoot at Hermitage House Care Home

Staff at Hermitage House Care Home in Thrapston recently granted resident Diana’s wish of a photoshoot with her family.

The ‘Make a Wish’ initiative at Hermitage House, part of the Country Court group, is all about creating meaningful and memorable experiences that reflect each resident’s unique passions and interests. Whether organising special outings, marking personal milestones, or arranging heartfelt gestures, the initiative forms a key part of the home’s person-centred approach to care.

The special day began in the home’s very own Elegance Hair Salon, where Diana’s granddaughter Summer helped do her hair and makeup— alongside her four-legged friend Winston. Diana also had her nails painted by the wellbeing team at Hermitage House, making sure she looked and felt her best.

‘Diana and her family enjoyed a full VIP experience with prosecco on arrival in our Piano Lounge, which we transformed into a mini photo studio with fun props. It was a really sweet afternoon for Diana to have with her family.’ Commented Customer Relations Manager Jess Grayson.

Diana was joined in front of the camera by Summer, her other granddaughter Courtney, her son, and of course, Winston, for a wholesome photoshoot.

“We had such a lovely time,” Diana said afterwards. “It meant so much to be with my family like this. I’ll treasure these memories forever.”

After the photoshoot, the family enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea prepared by Client Services Manager Gyalbo Tamang and his team in the Private Dining Suite. There was even a personal touch just for Diana: her favourite Bacardi and Coke to drink, and Cliff Richard’s greatest hits playing in the background.

“Everything was just perfect. Thank you for helping us capture such a special moment.” Commented Granddaughter Summer.
