Residents, relatives and staff at Selwood House Care Home in Charlton Down, part of the Country Court family of homes, are delighted to announce that the home has been rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its latest inspection. Located near Dorchester, Selwood House Care Home provides high-quality residential and dementia care within a warm and welcoming environment. Inspectors praised the home for treating people with “kindness, empathy and compassion” and highlighted that care was truly person-centred, with staff knowing residents’ likes, dislikes, histories and preferences.
Relatives also spoke highly of the care their loved ones receive. One relative said:
“They [staff] are very nice. They come and sit with her, take her hand, they are patient and caring.”
Another added:
“They all seem to know her personally. They have a laugh and a joke with her. They treat her really nicely. No concerns whatsoever.”
Home Manager Clare Twiss expressed her pride in the team.
“We are so proud of our team at Selwood House and our CQC outcome just tells you what we already know. This is a real credit to a team who work so hard every day for the benefit of others, making their lives that little bit better.
