Selwood House Care Home in Charlton Down, part of Country Court, has taken part in the national Cake4Kindness initiative, donating a selection of cakes to St Francis of Assisi Church, Littlemoor, in support of their local food bank.
Members from St Francis of Assisi Church commented.
“Our team were absolutely thrilled with the sweet treats and joked that they ‘won’t last long in the community!’ We’re so grateful and really pleased to have received them.”
Cake4Kindness is a UK-wide initiative encouraging individuals and organisations to bake and donate cakes to local groups, charities, and people who may benefit from a small gesture of support.
Clare Twiss, Home Manager at Selwood House Care Home
“We were delighted to donate a box of freshly baked cupcakes, all beautifully decorated by our chef. Taking part in Cake4Kindness has been a simple yet meaningful way for us to support our local community. The food bank does such important work, and we’re grateful to contribute, even in a small way. Our residents and staff were proud to take part.”
The initiative offered residents and staff at Selwood House the opportunity to connect with and support a local organisation that provides essential assistance to families and individuals in need.
