Shenstone Court Care Home in Halesowen near Dudley, recently welcomed friends, families, and neighbours for a Community Open Day filled with Easter fun and music.
Shenstone Court Care Home is a welcoming and modern home in the heart of Halesowen, offering high-quality residential, dementia, and respite care. Part of the Country Court family, the home is purpose-built with comfort in mind, featuring spacious en-suite bedrooms, cosy lounges, and lovely landscaped gardens. The dedicated team are passionate about providing person-centred care, helping residents feel at home and supported to live life to the fullest
Residents were joined by members of the local community, including Alex Ballinger, local MP, who came along to meet people, enjoy the entertainment, and take part in the day’s activities. It was a great chance for visitors to see the home, meet the team, and spend time with residents in a relaxed setting.
The Easter Egg Hunt in the garden was a favourite with both children and adults, as they searched high and low for hidden eggs. A raffle followed, with prizes donated by local businesses, raising money for the residents’ activity fund.
Later in the day, live music from a guitarist and singer brought everyone together for a sing-along. Residents enjoyed it so much they asked for an “afterparty”, and the team happily hosted a spontaneous karaoke session. Songs filled the lounge, including a memorable performance of My Heart Will Go On from Titanic.

Our residents had a brilliant time, and it was fantastic to see people from the local area coming in to chat, take part, and just spend time with us. A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the day—it really meant a lot to our residents and our team.”
Shenstone Court offers residential, dementia, and respite care and regularly hosts events to keep residents active and connected to their local community.
As part of the Open Day, a social media giveaway was held, and the team is pleased to announce Elizabeth Bowring as the winner. She’ll be receiving a luxury M&S hamper – congratulations, Elizabeth!
