Residents and staff at Shenstone Court Care Home in Halesowen have come together to launch a Christmas Toy Collection in support of Cradley Heath Salvation Army. Their aim is to help bring a little extra joy to local children in need this festive season. The residents are inviting staff, families, local businesses, and the wider community to donate new, unwrapped toys, which will be given to children referred by social workers and social services. Donations are being welcomed until Sunday 7th December.
Customer Relations Manager, Ellen McCoy commented:
“Our residents were determined to do something meaningful for local families this Christmas. They know how tough this time of year can be for some, and launching a toy appeal felt like a wonderful way to give back. Even a small donation can make a big difference.”
Resident Nellie, aged 89, shared:
“It’s lovely to think children will have toys this Christmas – no child should be without presents.”
Senior Carer Paula added:
“It’s wonderful to help the local community. Children shouldn’t go without toys – they don’t just bring joy, they also help with learning and development throughout life.”
Ellen continued:
“We’re incredibly proud of our residents for getting involved in this appeal. Their enthusiasm for supporting local families really shines through, and this toy collection is a wonderful way for our home to share the warmth and spirit of Christmas with the community.”
Members of the public are invited to drop off donations at Shenstone Court Care Home during normal visiting hours, up to and including Sunday 7th December.
