Shenstone Court Care Home in Halesowen hosted a Remembrance Coffee Afternoon on Friday 28th November, welcoming residents, families and members of the local community to come together in recognition of those who have served.
The home was pleased to welcome local veterans David and Brian, who served in the British Army and the Royal Air Force. Both are members of the Royal British Legion Cradley Branch and actively support the Poppy Appeal.
During the afternoon, guests had the opportunity to speak with David and Brian, learn more about the Poppy Appeal and hear about their experiences in the Armed Forces. The veterans also shared their service medals with those attending.
As part of the event, Shenstone Court raised £103.84 for the Poppy Appeal and received a certificate of thanks in recognition of the donation.
Customer Relations Manager, Ellen McCoy, said:
"We were pleased to welcome David and Brian to Shenstone Court and to give residents the chance to hear directly about their service. The afternoon was very engaging, and we’re grateful to everyone who supported the Poppy Appeal with their time and donations."
