Carpenders Park Care Home near Watford is inviting their local community to a special Community Coffee Afternoon on Tuesday, 11th November from 2pm to 4pm, as they honour a “Back in Our Day” theme. The event promises to be an afternoon dedicated to memories and meaningful connections.
Guests on the day can look forward to tea, coffee, homemade cake, and friendly conversation as we bring together our residents, their families, and members of the local community. The event will offer a chance to share stories, browse old photographs, enjoy classic songs from the past in the background, and take part in activities designed to unlock memories.
Earlier in the day, residents will welcome guest speaker Colin Oaks in recognition of Armistice Day. The morning will include a two-minute silence, followed by a short talk and display of wartime memorabilia.
Then, at 2pm, our Community Coffee Afternoon will begin with a slideshow presentation from guest speaker John Crawford, exploring Armistice Day and the story of The Cenotaph. John’s talk will provide an insightful look into the history and significance of this National Day of Remembrance.
