Walberton Place Care Home in Sussex marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day (8th May 2025) with a celebration full of nostalgia and community spirit. Residents enjoyed a live musical performance, shared wartime memories, and took part in a themed afternoon tea party. The home was decorated with bunting and Union Jack flags, creating a festive and reflective atmosphere as everyone came together to celebrate this historic milestone.
"We had a fantastic day marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day" , said Home Manager Edmalyn Consigna. "Residents, staff and families came together to enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea and sang along to classic tunes with our fabulous singer".
The hospitality team at Walberton Place Care Home provided guests with sandwiches, cakes, and plenty of tea. The VE Day cake was baked by talented Chef Andrea and admired by everyone who attended the event.
"Our residents especially enjoyed singing and listening to classic wartime tunes from singer Alice McKenna. We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us, we all had a wonderful time!"
