All our 103 bedrooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, making them safe and relaxing places. All bedrooms are en-suite, with walk-in wet rooms, to aid independent living, however, there are assisted bathrooms on each floor for residents who prefer a bath or require a little more help with their personal care.
Each of our dedicated nursing, dementia and residential wings have their own comfortable lounge and dining areas, which means residents can choose to spend time relaxing in our quieter spaces or joining with sociable activities in our larger sitting and dining areas. Whatever their preference, residents choices are respected at all times.
The café at Summer Lane is a popular place amongst our residents and a real social hub of the home. Whether they are hosting regular coffee mornings amongst their friendship groups or welcoming guests from outside the home, a variety of hot and cold drinks, refreshments and snacks are available to enjoy throughout the day.
Our residents love a trip to our in-house salon, our friendly hairdressers make it a real social highlight of the week for people. Summer Lane Care Home also boasts a dedicated well-being room, a quiet and comfortable space for various dementia-friendly sensory therapies.
For many of our residents, spending time in the garden is their favourite pastime. Our large first-floor terrace gives everyone the opportunity to spend time outdoors, whether it’s relaxing in the summer sunshine or tending to the pots and planters. Our residents enjoy getting involved in gardening tasks - some even have their own personal flowerbeds or veg patches to tend.
Vimal completed his nursing degree in 2007 and went on to tutor for a year in medical and surgical nursing. He worked at several nursing homes in Lincolnshire before making the move to Somerset in 2015. Vimal’s special blend of expertise, knowledge and deep compassion for residents have made him a popular and highly respected manager with both staff, families and local health care professionals.
Agnieszka brings local people into the home from pre-school children to Pets As Therapy dogs, visitors never fail to bring a smile to the faces of our residents. In spending time getting to know people, Agnieszka provides activities, outings and entertainment that reflect residents interests enabling people to retain their links to the community in Worle.
Lin is our Home Administrator and has worked at Summer Lane since 2019; she joined the Country Court family in 2017 bringing many years’ experience of working in care homes in Weston-Super-Mare and throughout Somerset. She keeps the administration running smoothly for the home and brightens everyone's day.
