Camberwell Lodge enjoys trip to Madame Tussauds

Recently Camberwell Lodge Care Home enjoyed a trip to London's famous waxwork museum, Madame Tussauds. Staff are always keen to take a person-centred approach to their trips, so when residents Colin and Peter came up with the idea of heading to Madame Tussauds, the staff knew it would make for a fantastic day out.

Caroline, Wellbeing Co-ordinator at Camberwell Lodge, commented on the day.

"Madame Tussauds was brilliant. The residents were amazed when they saw the different waxworks. They looked so lifelike we were all convinced that some were real."

Colin commented his favourite waxwork was Audrey Hepburn and Peter said he enjoyed seeing all the famous sporting celebrities commenting that they were “quite spectacular”.

The 'Spirit of London Ride' at the end of the attraction also proved to be a hit with the residents as it took us on a journey through the history and culture of London in an iconic black taxi. It was so popular a few residents even requested to go on again.

My favourite quote from a resident on the day was:

"I mingled with the stars, when I spoke to them, they stood and listened, and no one interrupted me."

Overall, we had a fabulous time."
