Chef Ben Morris has been selected as a finalist for prestigious a Care Home Chef award at the regional 2020 Great British Care Awards. Ben has been the Chef Manager at The Grange Care Home in Newport since it opened in March 2020 and has been nominated for his high standards and creative approach. The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
“We are delighted that Ben has been selected as a finalist at the GB Care Award in the East of England Region,” said Anwar Kajee Head of Hospitality at Country Court. “Ben consistently provides our residents with nutritious food presented to an excellent standard, he is keen to take onboard resident’s feedback and keep them excited about coming to the dining room every day. We aim to provide a five-star hotel standard of catering at Country Court and Ben goes above and beyond to achieve that.”
Ben started his catering career working in a restaurant with two AA rosettes and has continued to aim for high standards throughout his career. He spent some time travelling and working as a Chef in Australia as well as Head Chef in a well-established local golf club. Commenting on his role as Chef at The Grange, Ben said “Every day is different, we treat all our residents as individuals and that goes for their catering preferences too. I’m delighted and honoured to be selected as a finalist for this award, I love my job and I hope that shows in my cooking”.
The winners of the East of England Region Great British Care Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony in July 2021 at The East of England Showground in Peterborough. Country Court wishes Ben and the rest of the nominees the very best of luck.
