Family celebrations for Ella's 100th Birthday at Marling Court

Ella Marshall celebrated her 100th Birthday at Marling Court Care Home on 31st May surrounded by four generations of her family and friends. Ella was delighted with her birthday tea party and fabulous cake.

Ella grew up in Highbury, London where she enjoyed her school days and excelled in sport. She was on the first team for netball, tennis, and hockey along with enjoying ice skating in her spare time. She was awarded a distinction for her School Certificate in History. On leaving school she worked for the National Westminster Bank and then met and married Frank Marshall in 1941. The couple celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary before Frank passed away in 2012.

Ella has two children, Judy and Paul, five grandchildren and now two great-grandchildren, the youngest of whom is named Ella after her great grandmother. The family lived in Hampton for many years and as a lifelong bridge player, she was a member of White House Bridge Club and still enjoys a game with her family. Ella is an avid knitter and always has a project on the go.

Ella puts her long life down to having her family around her and keeping her brain active by reading a daily newspaper and playing bridge, also enjoying the occasional bar of chocolate!

Everyone at Country Court Care wishes Ella a very happy birthday.
