Good neighbours keep spirits high at Lostock Lodge Care Home

Residents at Lostock Lodge Care Home received a fantastic Goodie Box from a neighbouring business to help boost spirits during visiting restrictions due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The Goodie Box was delivered by Mark Foster Managing Director of Comms-Care whose offices are across the road from the Lostock Gralam Care Home.

Mark delivered a huge box of goodies for both residents and staff which included chocolates, biscuits and other treats. The box also contained handwritten and signed cards from employees at Comms-Care. These cards had heartfelt messages to residents saying things like “Sending hugs and love through these tricky times. Stay positive” and “We are all in this together. You are not alone we are thinking of you all.”

Allison Kennie, Home Manager at Lostock Lodge said “Thank you just doesn’t begin to cover how this kind gesture made us all feel. We were moved to tears that everyone had gone to such an effort on our behalf. So many beautiful handwritten messages in all the cards just touched our hearts – such kindness in these challenging times can make a huge difference.  We can’t thank the lovely people at Comms-Care enough”.

Mark said “Comms-care is lucky to be owned by Ingram Micro who are passionate about helping our communities both globally and locally, but even more lucky to share a business park with Lostock Lodge whose work at this time of crisis means more to people than words could express. The people supporting our most vulnerable loved ones in some of the most isolated conditions are heroes, I cannot think of any other word which describes it better. It was not only our honour, but our heartfelt duty to offer a little sunshine to those who may need it most

Although subject to visiting restrictions residents have been keeping busy and active this week with a wide range of weekly activities continuing. They’ve enjoyed chair-based exercise, crafting and making decorations ready for Easter, celebrating a birthday and a very lively Irish themed party including singing and dancing for St Patrick’s Day.
