The Grange Care Home in Newport near Saffron Walden have been awarded a ‘Top 20 Care Home’ award for the East of England Region. The awards are part of the annual carehome.co.uk Top 20 care homes awards based on over 90,000 reviews from care home residents as well as their friends and family. The Grange has a score of 10 out of 10, taken from the average of their reviews.
Commenting on the award Maria Moore, Home Manager at The Grange said, “We are very proud to be recognised as one of the Top 20 Care Homes in our region. One reviewer commented; “As a daughter who had been increasingly caring for my mum (who has dementia) for years, the crunch point eventually came (in lockdown!) and after a final difficult three months of caring and living with her, a care home became the only viable option. But of course, I was very worried that anyone other than me would be able to give her the level of care and affection that a family member could. Yes, The Grange is luxurious - definitely- a brand new building designed with wide corridors, large bedrooms, amazing food and wonderful in-house services. The activities put on are exceptional - a beach visit (yes virtual in lockdown!) and a ‘mood room’ for gentle sensory stimulation. However, the most important thing is that every aspect of care is tailored to my mum and, I’m certain, to each resident. Kindness and compassion run through this place. Thanks to every single member of staff!”
Another family member said; “When the time comes for us to pass our loved one into the care of others, it is one of the most important decisions we will have to make. I have been married to my lovely wife for nearly 64 years, and after caring for her for 4-years, the time came that I could no longer cope, it was, as for all of us that put our loved one into a home, a heart-breaking decision. I visited a number of care homes in our local area, and although all, I know are staffed by lovely, caring people, we eventually decided on The Grange. We are so pleased we did, I know after 9-months that the decision was the right one, the dedicated staff in the most difficult of times, have shown love and compassion for my wife. The home itself is a lovely comfortable place to be, more like a hotel with all modern conveniences, and the food is lovely and beautifully presented. I can speak from first-hand experience of this because I spent a week in respite care in The Grange over Christmas; the best Christmas of my life.”
In addition to the individual award, Country Court have been awarded a 'Top 20 Recommended Care Home Group 2021' Award for the sixth consecutive year. Unlike other awards the carehome.co.uk Top 20 award is based on the actual and impartial experiences of people living in Country Court homes making them unique in this respect.
The carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards highlight the most recommended Care Homes in each region of the UK and the Top 20 Care Home Groups in the UK. The Awards are based on the Individual and Group Review Score, as of 28th February 2021.
