Residents at Ashwood Care and Nursing Home in Spalding are enjoying their newly refurbished home. The well-regarded Spalding nursing home has undergone a refurbishment which has provided the home with its own café, themed pub area, and luxurious lounge and dining areas.
“We are delighted with the new areas of our care home, they will be a great asset for people in Spalding”, said Alykhan Kachra, Managing Director of Country Court Care. “We know that all our residents, but especially those with dementia, benefit from stimulation to keep their minds active. Creating interesting areas within the home act as a destination and focal point that can be accessed safely and securely”.
Visitors to the home are now welcomed into a ‘village street’ with a café, shop, hairdressing salon and nail bar. The beautifully refurbished lounge and dining area provides a luxury environment for residents to enjoy with tasteful furnishing and comfortable areas to relax and socialise.
Manu Thapa Magar, Home Manager at Ashwood Nursing Home explained “We are looking forward to utilising the new facilities to take our person-centered activities to a new level. The new facilities will enable us to improve quality of life for our residents and help us to set a benchmark for high quality, relationship-based care and support for our residents, especially those with dementia”.
Each area of the home has been thoughtfully designed and beautifully furnished to provide comfortable and pleasant surroundings. The café will be ideal for relatives to take their loved ones to for a cup of tea whilst visiting, or for one-to-one activities with Well-being & Activities Coordinators. Whilst the pub will be a great location for enjoying a game of cards or traditional games over a drink with friends.
