Residents, families, and members of the local community came together for a fun and lively quiz night at Baycroft Flitwick Care Home near Ampthill, raising money for Keech Hospice while enjoying a great evening of entertainment.
Keech Hospice provides free specialist end-of-life care for people of all ages, supporting adults across Bedfordshire as well as children and their families, making the evening even more meaningful for everyone involved.
‘Guests were warmly welcomed on arrival and shown to their tables, where they were invited to come up with their own team names before the quiz began. A total of nine teams took part, with between four and six people in each group, creating a brilliant atmosphere from the start.’ Commented Business Support Executive Danielle Gladwin.
The quiz featured a mix of general knowledge, picture rounds, and “guess the link” questions, keeping everyone engaged and working together. Tables were set with a selection of snacks, including olives, honey, and mustard sausages, jalapeno cheese poppers, and peanuts, while guests enjoyed wine or soft drinks throughout the evening.
‘There were plenty of laughs along the way, especially when it came to the team names and friendly competition between groups. The winning team, the “Flitwick Nutters” led by Chef Manager Alva, took home a prize pot of £85. At the other end of the leaderboard, team “I Am Spartacus” came last and proudly accepted their prize of a packet of crisps.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Lead Bernie Hoo-Hing.
A raffle was also held on the night, with one of the home’s residents, Neal, taking home the prize. In total, the event raised £113.50 for Keech Hospice.
Guests shared how much they enjoyed the evening, with many saying they didn’t know what to expect but had such a great time and were already asking when the next quiz night would be held.
‘The event was a real success, bringing people together from the local community and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The team at Baycroft Flitwick Care Home is already looking forward to hosting another quiz night later in the year.’ Commented Business Support Executive Danielle Gladwin.
