Recently at Ferrars Hall Care Home in Huntingdon residents, staff, families and guests were invited into the home for their very own Dementia Café. The Dementia Café is for people living with dementia or people caring for a loved one with dementia. Ferrars Hall Dementia Café have been scheduled to take place every last Tuesday of the month and all are welcome to join. The event aims to raise more awareness surrounding dementia and the staff team at Ferrars Hall are there to help signpost people to support services for further help and guidance surrounding dementia.
At the event visitors were offered a safe environment to chat, warm drinks & delicious nibbles. One family member commented on the afternoon saying ‘I think these Dementia Cafes are a brilliant idea’ and another commented ‘Dementia Cafes are really worth coming to, they are a big support and eye opener into the world of dementia.’ This showing just how impactful these sessions can be for individuals.
‘It’s brilliant to see everyone socialising, enjoying the homes environment and seeing what we have to offer within our home. I feel even if 1 person attended these cafes it would make a huge positive impact on them’ commented Customer Relations Manager Chloe Kenna.
