Residents and staff at Hermitage House Care Home in Thrapston were delighted to receive a generous donation from Foresters Financial, an international financial services provider with a long tradition of supporting local communities. Thanks to the donation, they were able to transform their garden into a more accessible and lively space for everyone to enjoy.
Foresters Financial has been offering financial solutions with a difference to families since 1874. They help people save and protect their future, as well as make a positive impact in their local communities through their Community Volunteers. One of these volunteers, Marie, who lives in Thrapston, arranged for the care home to choose what they needed most for their residents.
The staff team at Hermitage House decided that they wanted to improve their garden and make it more appealing and engaging for their residents, many of whom love gardening. Foresters Financial donated raised planter beds, seeds, soil, parasols, bird feeders, jigsaws, board games, and solar lights. Marie visited the care home and helped the staff set up the planters, sow the seeds, and assemble the furniture. They also had a lovely lunch together and enjoyed the sunshine.

They have made a huge difference to our activities at Hermitage House. Our residents are having fun with the jigsaws and brain teasers, and our garden is now a brighter and more inviting space for them to take care of.”
Clare Hedge, Home Manager at Hermitage House, said: “Trevor is one of our residents who loves gardening the most. He was so happy to see the new planter beds, seeds, and bird feeders that Foresters Financial donated. He had a great afternoon with Marie, chatting about flowers and gardening tips. It was lovely to see him so engaged and enthusiastic.”
