Residents and staff at Oakview Lodge Care Home in Welwyn Garden City wished resident Marion a very happy 100th Birthday this week.
Marion was delighted to receive her telegram from the Her Majesty the Queen and was presented with a card and flowers by Cllr Barbara Fitzsimon Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council who came to join in the celebrations.
Marion's secret to a long life is good health, a happy family, a glass of wine every day and not to mention a lot of luck!
She was joined by her family including her daughter Barbara and great-grandsons Zach, Oscar and Arthur for a party and entertainment. Marion received lots of gifts and flowers and the beautiful cake was made Kezi Charalambous Home Administrator at Oakview Lodge.
Marion was born on 9th April 1919 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and lived most of her life in Welwyn Garden City. She worked as a tailor and did war work at the aircraft factory in Biggleswade.
