Local Greggs store donation keeps morale high for Neale Court Care Home and local neighbours

Staff at Neale Court Care Home received a fantastic donation of food from their local Greggs store at Thorpe-on-the-hill. The package included bread rolls, cakes, milk, bacon, ham and cheese. The catering team at the North Hykeham care home used the donation to make up food packages to donate to the elderly in the surrounding streets as well as making rolls for staff who have been working around the clock to keep residents safe in these unprecedented times.

Becky Hunt, Home Manager at Neale Court said “We were touched by this kind gesture and delighted to be able to share the very generous donation with older people in our local community who are unable to get to the shops at the moment.”

Becky added, “One lady who was 83 said it had made her day as her son lives a few miles away and hadn’t been able to get over with her shopping. We have a lot of elderly people living in the streets around our home so we are doing all we can to support our local community, everyone was very grateful for the packages”.

Although subject to visiting restrictions, residents at Neale Court Care Home have been keeping busy and active this week with a wide range of weekly activities continuing. They’ve enjoyed chair-based exercise, making decorations ready for Easter, celebrating Mother’s Day and playing games.
