Lostock Lodge pedal for paramedics

Residents and staff at Lostock Lodge Care Home in Lostock Gralam near Northwich kicked off a static cycle ride of over 220 miles this week, the team are pedalling to raise funds for the North West Ambulance Charity.

The North West Ambulance Service are very close to our hearts here at Lostock Lodge” said Home Manager, Allison Kennie. “As a care home we work closely with our colleagues in the Ambulance Service so we wanted to do what we could for the service knowing how hard everyone is working at the moment.”

Staff and residents at the care home are cycling the distance between Manchester’s Nightingale Hospital and London’s Nightingale Hospital which totals 224 miles. The North West Ambulance Charity has previously supported the care team at Lostock Lodge with training in areas such as calling 999, Frailty and Mouth Care. Everyone at the home is doing their bit, from the Home Manager Allison Kennie to Carers, Housekeepers and of course residents who are all taking a turn on the bike.

The North West Ambulance Charity provides lifesaving equipment, education programmes, community first responders and mental health & well-being programmes for the amazing staff outside of NHS funding and supports services to help families and communities in the North West.

Everyone is welcome to support the home by donating through the Just Giving Page:
