Our staff awards are a fantastic opportunity to say a huge Thank You to all our staff who have been absolutely amazing throughout 2020 and continue to go above and beyond in 2021 too. During what has been the most challenging of times our teams have pulled together and shown great resilience. Our staff continually put the wellbeing of our residents first and at the heart of everything they do. They continue to demonstrate our family values of ‘Celebrating life every day’, ‘Local home, national family’ and ‘Shared experiences bring us together’ every day in their work.
This year our awards ceremonies went online, with our Board of Directors hosting the ceremonies from the Country Court Christmas grotto, complete with life-sized reindeer! The winners received their certificates and prizes from their Home Managers, with all staff receiving a fantastic Christmas gift in recognition of their contribution throughout the year.
We received over 1000 nominations for the awards with 30% coming from families who took the time to vote online. There were many wonderful comments about our staff teams. Here are comments from just a few people who wanted to nominate all the staff in their loved one’s care home:
“Whatever time at night I phone they always know how my mum is, tell me anecdotes of what she has been up to and especially how she is feeling. Mum enjoys her chats with staff and they always convince her to eat and drink better. They treat my mum like their own family.” A family member at Rose Lodge.
“Mum moved into Ruckland Court in July which was a very difficult emotional adjustment for us all, particularly given the current climate. However, the friendliness of the welcome and the warmth of the care that she received from day one, ensured that she settled in very quickly. She's always telling me that the staff will do anything for her, and how lovely they all are. Every single one of them contributes to an amazingly happy atmosphere in Ruckland Court, and it is obvious that the staff see themselves all as very much part of a team, whose job it is to make life as good as it can be for all the residents. It is immensely reassuring for our family, and there is no way that we could name any single person, as they are all full of warmth, caring and humour - as Mum said herself, "You made absolutely the right decision when you choose Ruckland Court"!” – A family member at Ruckland Court.
“The staff at the Grove always have a smile on their faces and the time to talk and advise. They are a brilliant team and are always working together. The care they show the residents is really lovely and very special. I have so many individuals take care of my mum and I don't know their names, but I think together they make the place lovely.” – A family member at The Grove.
