Pets on parade at Priory Court Care Home

Priory Court Care & nursing home held its first ‘Pet Parade’ on Saturday 15th June. The event was well attended by local people keen to show off their pet and the home’s residents loved meeting the animals. Categories included; most exotic pet, ‘waggiest’ tail, young handler and ‘pet judges would most like to take home’. Over fifteen dogs and one tortoise participated!

The Mayor of Burnham-on-Sea Cllr Andy Brewer and his wife Lorna Brewer attended to present the winners with their rosette and certificate. Town Crier, Alistair Murray also came along, presenting Tetley and his owner Ruth with 1st place in Best of Show. Tetley did exceptionally well for himself, taking first place in several categories.  The event raised £120 for the resident’s Comfort Fund which goes towards providing extra entertainment and special days out for residents at the nursing and care home.

"It was lovely to see so many new faces at this fun event and we are looking forward to many more over the summer " said Home Manager, Elizebath Biju “We are keen to invite local people into our home, it’s a great way for our residents to continue to feel connected with their local community.”

Forthcoming events at the care home include:

  • Care Home Open Day – Friday 28th June – join us for a tour of the home and refreshments
  • Summer Garden Party – Wednesday 31st July 12 noon – everyone is welcome to come and see our garden projects
