Rose Lodge Care Home make sweet wishes come true

As part of Country Court Care’s ‘Make a wish’ initiative residents at Rose Lodge Care Home in Market Deeping hosted a fabulous dessert club this week. The Well-being and Activities Coordinators at the care home were tasked with asking each resident what their wish would be; Kit, a dessert lover suggested sharing her passion with local people and wanted to host a dessert club.

Everyone was invited to bring in their favourite home-made pudding for everyone to share. Friends and family joined residents to sample the dishes which included cheesecake, salted caramel cake and the dessert that was voted everyone’s favourite was a chocolate Poke cake baked by Kit’s daughter-in-law. True to its name, a poke cake has holes poked into it after baking and a filling is added to infuse extra flavor into the cake.

It’s lovely to make our resident’s wishes come true” said Home Manager, Natalie White “sometimes it can be the little things that really make someone’s day, especially when it’s meaningful to them.”
