Smiles in the sunshine as visiting restrictions are eased at Walberton Place Care Home

Residents at Country Court Care & Nursing Homes across the UK have been making the most of the easing of visiting restrictions this week. Whilst some people have rushed to the pub or the shops, care home residents have been looking forward to seeing more of their families, especially the youngest members. Following the Government's announcement of changes to guidance on care home visits, which came into effect from Monday 12th April, Country Court Care Homes have been working hard to provide the best possible experience for families and residents. The guidance now allows two visitors per session, plus toddlers and babies, which will not count towards the allocated numbers.

I know how many of our residents have been looking forward to meeting their Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, so we are delighted that this is now possible.” Said Alykhan Kachra Co-CEO. “Visiting is a central part of life in our care homes and crucial for the health, wellbeing and quality of life of our residents.”

Life is slowly and cautiously returning to normal for care home residents who are looking forward to making the most of the summer sunshine. Country Court in Bloom, the annual gardening competition for care homes in the Country Court group, launched this month and will see people enjoying a wide range of interesting and engaging activities over the summer.

At Walberton Place Care Home in Walberton near Arundel residents had a joint celebration to mark three residents’ birthdays outside in their garden. “As the weather was glorious, we decided to have a garden party in our courtyard.” said Customer Relations Manager Cheryl Tyson “Our Chef Sergio produced a wonderful buffet, and our Wellbeing Team did us proud with some fantastic entertainment. It was lovely to have a celebration outside in the sunshine, it was just what we needed and gave everyone a real boost”.
