Staff and residents at Walberton Place Care Home celebrate Carers Week

Staff and residents at Walberton Place Care Home near Arundel celebrated carers week by thanking care staff with treats and chocolates. Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. Country Court has taken the opportunity to thank its care teams and share messages of appreciation left by family and friends. One family member from Walberton Place Care Home said,

I can’t thank the staff at Walberton Place enough, for how well they look after my Nan, Joan. When she’s feeling sad and blue, they make such an effort to make her feel safe and loved. They have put themselves at risk in this pandemic to make sure our loved ones were safe, THANK YOU. Keep up the good work, we really appreciate you all.”

Another family member commented:

“Thank you ALL at Walberton Place for your kindnesses in Daphne’s care. Especially Josh for your thoughtfulness, Maggie and Tony for such good humoured ‘activities’, Luis for knowing when resident need a boost, Sergio for pampering with delicious patisseries. And to ALL for making Daphne feel valued and safe.”

Residents wrote thank you notes to care staff thanking them for taking the time to stop for a chat and for always coming into work with a smile on their face. They handed out gifts of sweets and chocolates. “Carers Week has been a wonderful opportunity to thank our staff and show them that we appreciate everything they do.” Said Home Manager Luis Maia. “This last year has been difficult for everyone. Our staff have had so much to cope with, so it’s important to take the opportunity to show our appreciation and let people know how much they are valued.”
