Stanton Court celebrate 'Good' CQC report with garden party

Stanton Court Nursing Home are delighted with their recent CQC report, rating them as ‘Good’ in all areas following a recent unannounced inspection. The report noted that “The service was well-led. Systems and processes were embedded and enabled quality care to be delivered”.

Staff, residents, families and the local community celebrated with a Garden Party in the grounds of the Stanton Drew nursing home. Everyone enjoyed a fantastic afternoon tea made by Chef Clare and team, entertainment was provided by local tribute band ‘The Twerzles’.

The staff team here at Stanton Court Care Home go the extra mile every day to deliver excellent care and meaningful opportunities for our residents, this is reflected in the positive comments in the report”. said Alykhan Kachra, Managing Director of Country Court Care.

Home Manager Wendy Perkins was especially pleased that the report highlighted the atmosphere at the nursing home describing it as “a family feel and was welcoming”. The inspectors spoke to one resident who said “Everyone is nice and kind, one big happy family” and a relative who said “Everyone is kind and compassionate towards everyone here, it’s like a family”.

Staff were described as motivated and enthusiastic about their roles, speaking passionately about the care they provided. One relative said “The staff are all caring they seem to want to be here, it’s not just a job”. A staff member said “I am proud to work here. I love working here.” Praise for the home also came from healthcare professionals who regularly visited the home. One commented how much the service had improved and gave positive feedback about the service. They said, "People are well cared for. It is really very good. It is calm and settled. It is well organised. All actions are completed and there is good communication."

The report noted that Stanton Court Nursing Home had established relationships with the local community, with the local primary school having a vegetable patch in the garden and people had been supported to participate in a local flower show. Residents had also planted flowers in small pots which were left on the door steps of nearby houses along with a welcoming message to help build relationships with neighbouring households.

Stanton Court Nursing Home provides nursing, residential and respite care for up to 30 residents in the village of Stanton Drew near Bristol.
