Stephie the Elf visits residents & staff at Rose Lodge Care Home

Staff and residents at Rose Lodge Care Home in Market Deeping recently enjoyed Elf Day raising £195 for Alzheimer’s Society in the process. During their Elf Day Stephie the Elf, AKA activity coordinator Steph Tarrier, visited all the residents in the home to spread the festive spirit.

“We had a wonderful day” commented Home Manager, Nogi John. “All the residents were left smiling from ear to ear. We love Christmas at Rose Lodge and this was a great opportunity to get the festivities underway”.

Residents also participated in Elf Day by creating colourful Elf drawings and they mentioned how happy they were to have seen Stephie the elf on her travels round the home. Elf day was a huge success at Rose lodge and has brought lots of joy, smiles and laughter into the home.

Activity Coordinator Steph particularly loves Elf Day as it has a strong personal connection to her home life outside of work. Steph was sadly diagnosed with Breast Cancer in August 2013 and Elf Day became an extra holiday tradition that she and her family celebrated to spread positivity. Steph along with her children Poppy-Rose, Abigail, Kieran and husband at the time RJ all dressed the part in their elf attire. They played games, cooked a roast dinner, watched Elf the movie and went about their whole day wearing Elf attire. Steph is now cancer free and carries on the Elf tradition to this day.
