The Grove Care Home in Waltham near Grimsby is delighted to share the news that a member of their care team has been shortlisted for the ‘Rising Star’ award at the Lincolnshire Care Association Care Awards. Connie Carpenter has worked at The Grove Care Home for eleven months and is delighted to be nominated for the award.
The Rising Star award is presented to an individual who has worked in the care sector for no more than two years. Despite their short time in the sector, they should show real passion and have made a positive impact on the people they support.
“Connie is clearly passionate about caring for older people, she is eager to learn and will always step in and help wherever she can.” Said Home Manager Kelly Lofts. “We are delighted that she is shortlisted, and we wish her lots of luck at the awards ceremony in March next year”.
“I was very surprised to be shortlisted,” said Connie. “I love my job and enjoy getting to know our residents and their families. It doesn’t feel like a job when you’re having fun with residents. I love getting to know people the better you know somebody, the more you can encourage them to be independent”. Connie has a natural affinity for working with older people. She has found the staff team at The Grove to be very supportive and is keen to learn from them and progress her career in care.
The Lincolnshire Care Awards are an annual awards event to celebrate the care workers and organisations across Lincolnshire whose work makes a difference to the lives of others, every single day. Winners will be announced at a black-tie gala night on Thursday 24th March 2022 at Lincoln’s County Assembly Rooms. Country Court is sponsoring the Community Care award, which recognises the significant role of the Home Care Worker or Personal Assistant in consistently providing a high-quality standard for people living in their own homes.
