Christmas is a time when staff and residents at Country Court Care Homes take the opportunity to let the festive season of goodwill prevail. Traditionally, Christmas in Country Court Care Homes has been celebrated by welcoming families, the community and friends into our homes, they have been full of singing, laughter and Christmas spirit. Family is at the heart of everything we do at Country Court and Christmas is a time to celebrate that ethos.
To get everyone in the Christmas spirit, our wellbeing teams lead the way with festive crafts and activities. From practising carols at their regular choir sessions to making cards and decorations during craft activities, there's plenty to keep everyone busy. A particular favourite is baking mince pies, decorating biscuits and cooking festive treats. We love to see our care homes decorated for the Christmas period, they all receive a real Christmas tree at the front door, and residents help decorate just as they would at home.
Our residents will be writing Christmas cards to their friends and families. We will be exchanging cards with the friends we've made at our regular coffee mornings too. Local schools and nurseries will be making and decorating cards with our residents during their regular visits to our care homes.
Each care home hosts a Christmas Fair with stalls selling gifts, crafts and festive treats. Family, friends and the local community are invited to join in the fun, sing carols and enjoy festive games. There is always plenty of festive food available too, from hot chocolate to mince pies and mulled wine.
We welcome visitors to our care homes at all times of the year, but Christmas is an extra special time when we love to welcome visitors to our care homes. Visitors always bring smiles to our residents' faces, we love to see plenty of friends, family and neighbours. Look out for specific events on our Facebook pages where we advertise our Christmas Fairs, coffee mornings and other festive events.
Country Court care homes host regular religious services, with many hosting special Christmas worship for residents who wish to attend. Care homes also welcome carol singers and other community groups to visit at this special time.
Our annual staff awards event is our opportunity to celebrate the fantastic teams and recognise our staff members. From over 3500 staff members, we shortlist staff who have gone above and beyond in their job roles. Following the judging event, we host a glittering awards lunch where we present the winners with their prizes and recognise the fantastic achievements of all those shortlisted.
