Staff and residents at Belmont House Care & Nursing Home in Sheffield enjoyed a fabulous weekend of celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The care home hosted a fantastic garden party for families and residents complete with entertainment, singing and dancing. Families joined residents to mark 70 years of Her Majesty’s reign.
“It was wonderful to see the home full of families and visitors”, said Home Manager, Joanne Coldwell. “We had a great time celebrating with people from the village coming to join us too. Our residents were delighted to see so many people celebrating with them. They thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing with their loved ones”.
Residents spent the week making decorations and getting their home ready for the big weekend of celebrations. They enjoyed making crowns, bunting and banners, and reminiscing about royal events and celebrations over the years. Chef Manager, Jacqueline Brodie and her team created a fantastic afternoon tea for residents and visitors to enjoy together.
Thanking staff for their hard work, one family member commented “Well done to you all for making a great celebration for Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee. Your residents are so fortunate to be in your wonderful care.”
