Residents and staff at Lakeview Lodge Care Home are celebrating after receiving their latest CQC Report, rating them ‘Good’ in all areas, following a recent unannounced inspection. Lakeview Lodge Care Home provides long term residential and respite care for up to 66 residents in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.
“Our team at Lakeview Lodge put our resident’s health and wellbeing at the heart of everything they do every day, we are delighted that this is reflected in the report findings.” said Alykhan Kachra, Co-CEO of Country Court.
Home Manager Clare Hedge was very pleased that the report highlighted the home’s clear vision, putting people at the centre of the service. “We have a lovely, homely atmosphere here at Lakeview Lodge, staff go above and beyond every day to ensure people feel well cared for and retain their independence.”
Residents told inspectors that they were happy living at Lakeview Lodge. One person commented "They [staff] are so gentle, nothing is too much trouble, I would recommend this home to anyone." Another said, "I have heard this is the best care home in Milton Keynes and I agree it's brilliant". Staff members also commented on how happy they were at Lakeview Lodge, one person said "I feel confident to raise any issues. I love working here, we work as a good team, I feel really appreciated."
Relatives said they felt communication with the service was good and with the reintroduction of visiting following the easing of Coronavirus restrictions, they felt confident their loved ones were being well cared for. One relative said, "They [management] have followed the national guidelines to the letter and kept people safe. They have opened visiting during the week daytime and bookings only at weekends, and we can now take people out, for a walk round the lake, or to the coffee shop, it's so much better."
The publication of the report marks the culmination of months of effort from staff and managers to take the care home from the previous ‘Requires Improvement’ rating to now being rated ‘Good’ across all the CQC categories of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
