Care Homes may be closed to visitors currently but families are still able to get a feel for what life is like for residents at Lakeview Lodge Care Home via a video put together by staff at the Bletchley care home. Residents and staff were filmed singing and dancing as they said ‘thank you’ to the care team at the home, NHS staff, local GPS and the local community who have been supporting the home during the lockdown.
The residential care home has received many gifts and donations during the lockdown which has kept staff morale high and increased the sense of community with the local area. Most recently they received a donation of plants and compost from their local Aldi store for the garden, so residents can participate in Country Court’s gardening competition, Country Court in Bloom.
“We’ve had to come up with innovative ways to show prospective families what life is like here at Lakeview Lodge” explained Home Manager Clare Hedge “We can’t let people come and view the home but we are admitting new residents who need care. We’ve posted the video on Facebook so families of existing residents can also see what their loved one’s home is like during the lockdown. It’s also a great way to show people how much our residents enjoy life with us a swell as what a fantastically positive care team and wonderful family atmosphere we have here at Lakeview Lodge”.
Activity Coordinator Jade Whitaker came up with the idea and made the video.
“It was great fun to make,” said Jade “The residents loved joining in and saying ‘thank you’ to the care team. We had lots of positive comments from relatives and families on our Facebook page who enjoyed seeing their loved ones safe and happy in their home.”
